The task was to design a product that would stand out in the professional market by communicating its benefits through design.
Challenge
Teleste’s vision is to be a Global Leader of Broadband Cable Access and Video Surveillance Networks.
Teleste set out to create a new modular product platform - with the most compact form factor in the industry and with minimal power consumption, enabling longer lifetime and lower energy costs. Site cooling requirements are reduced at the same time thus boosting efficiency.
Process
Usability, manufacturability and sell-ability were key drivers from the beginning. White color and light were studied as the basis for different concepts.
Instead of having the case painted white, the innovation focused on using white light as a panel-wide design element. Status indicators and maintenance issues were solved in an innovative way to optimize usability.
Result
The final product clearly differentiates itself on the market. Teleste can use the uniqueness to draw attention to the key benefits of the innovative product: modularity, energy and space savings.
